How to Find Unreleased Dubstep IDs After a Festival Set

Shazam fails on unreleased dubs. Film a few seconds, note the set time, then check the artist’s own tracklist and comments the next day.

Shazam fails on unreleased dubs because there is no store fingerprint. No tool we can name will ID every dubplate. What works in practice is logging the moment, then chasing the artist’s own posts once the set is online.

What to capture while the set is live

Film a few seconds of the drop and the MC if there is one. Note the time in the set (phone clock is enough). Write one distinctive detail: a vocal sample, a lyric fragment, a half-time fill that only appears once. That scrap is more useful than a vibe description (“dark tearout around midnight”).

At Lost Lands 2026 (18–20 September, Legend Valley, Ohio), special sets named in the EDM.com review included Subtronics b2b LEVEL UP, ALLEYCVT b2b Crankdat, Eptic b2b LYNY, Sullivan King b2b Ray Volpe, INFEKT b2b Samplifire, and Excision’s Friday solo plus Sunday Detox and Space Laces b2b. Sunday’s 11pm–3am closing slots were cancelled after severe storms, a temporary evacuation, and a second evacuation. The Excision b2b Space Laces scheduled 9:40–11pm went ahead before that second evacuation ([DJ Mag](https://djmag.DJ Mag reported that storms cancelled the final Sunday slots. If your timestamp sits after that window, you may be chasing a set that never happened.

The next-day checklist

Check the artist’s own comments and any tracklist post.
Search a distinctive vocal or lyric fragment in quotes.
Ask in the artist’s own comments rather than a random ID group that guesses.
When Couch Lands or a YouTube VOD is up, scrub to your timestamp and compare. Prefer the festival’s own channel once the VOD lands. Search the set title and the artist name.

If the ID never hits a store, SoundCloud is still where many dubs and VIP edits land first (dubstep mix search, riddim mix search). Beatport’s Dubstep top 100 only measures Beatport sales. It misses SoundCloud-only dubs and radio shows (Beatport top 100).

What this method cannot do

It cannot name every VIP. It cannot turn a 10-second clip of a sub into a title if the producer never posted. It cannot replace waiting for a tracklist. Festival weeks produce a lot of “ID please” noise. Staying on the artist’s own page cuts most of the bad guesses.

Wednesday early-entry and Thursday pre-party existed for campers at Lost Lands 2026. If your clip is from a pre-party stage, search that bill separately from the main weekend headliners. Adventure Club throwback and FuntCase b2b Doctor P were also named in the review. A DnB ID will not resolve inside a dubstep Beatport filter.

Bass Canyon (Excision, the Gorge, Washington) and Wakaan (Liquid Stranger, Mulberry Mountain, 1–3 October 2026 (pre-party: 30 September)) are the other big annual bass weekends we may name without inventing unchecked 2026 set lists. Same ID method applies: timestamp, short clip, artist comments, official VOD when it lands. Rinse FM and SomaFM will not Shazam a dubplate for you either. They are discovery tools for released or radio-cleared music (rinse.fm, somafm.com/dubstep). Never Say Die Vol. 7 (5 June 2026) and Legacy remixes (3 July 2026) are store-side releases. If your ID matches a credit on those lists, the title is already public. Dream Nation: announced programme

The official event spans two nights, 30 and 31 October 2026 in Villepinte. The organiser’s ticket page lists Flux Pavilion, Modestep, ECRAZE and Graphyt on Saturday’s Bassquake stage. The stage covers several bass styles; the festival as a whole is not exclusively dubstep.
