Best Dark / Tearout Dubstep Tracks 2026
Tearout is the chaotic festival end of dubstep, not trench. No fake top 10: start from Lost Lands heavies, Svdden Death, and NSD Vol. 7.
Table of contents
There is no honest tearout top 10 we can print for 2026 from this magazine’s verified file. What we can do is define the lane, separate it from trench and deathstep, and point at the heavy sets and releases we actually documented through 30 September.
Tearout is not trench
Tearout, in plain language, is the harder, more chaotic end of festival dubstep. Trench is the word Infekt pushed for OG riddim: original codes of that style rather than later melodic or colour variants. Riddim itself is what the magazine calls a prominent style in our editorial coverage in 2026: 140 BPM, simple structure, half-time weight. Full splits: /news/riddim-vs-trench-vs-tearout-2026/, /news/what-is-trench-dubstep/, /en/what-is-dubstep/.
Deathstep describes a dark, aggressive branch of dubstep. Code: Pandorum is active: Bleeding Dahlia was released on 5 June 2026 by Crowsnest Audio. The earlier switch to INHUMAN does not establish that the Code: Pandorum project is over today.
The magazine no longer treats “heavy dubstep” as its own subgenre. Excision is the reference people mean when they still say it. Month page: /artistes-dubstep/artiste-du-mois-septembre-2026-excision/.
A dated starting list, not a crown
Through 30 September 2026, the documented spine for heavy festival listening on this site is:
- Svdden Death as artist of the month for March: /artistes-dubstep/artiste-du-mois-mars-2026-svdden-death/
- Never Say Die Vol. 7, released 5 June 2026 on Beatport, a compilation released alongside SKisM’s separate 100-track retrospective mix. Artists on that Beatport credit list include Zomboy, Eptic, LAXX, Habstrakt, IVORY, Space Laces, SampliFire, MUST DIE!, Svdden Death, and many others (Beatport release, EDM.com on Vol. 7)
- Never Say Die Legacy remixes released on 3 July 2026 on Apple Music (including a SKisM / Virus Syndicate / Skybreak remix and a BadKlaat remix). We have not reviewed every remix. Say that and move on (Apple Music: Never Say Die Legacy)
- Lost Lands 2026 heavy and special sets named in the EDM.com review: Subtronics b2b LEVEL UP, Eptic b2b LYNY, Sullivan King b2b Ray Volpe, INFEKT b2b Samplifire, Excision’s Friday solo close and Sunday b2b Space Laces. Lineup names also include Eptic, Wooli, Zomboy, Space Laces, Virtual Riot, ATLiens, and more (festival review, lineup story)
Replay map without invented VOD links: /news/lost-lands-2026-dubstep-sets/ and /news/excision-lost-lands-2026-sets/. Search the set on YouTube and prefer the festival’s own channel once the Couch Lands replay is up.
Public releases establish activity in 2026: Vol. 7 on 5 June, Legacy on 3 July, Cracks Begin To Show on 7 August and Play With Fire on 28 August. The dates appear in the label catalogue on Apple Music. They do not establish contract policy or an open demo inbox; use the label’s official channels for submission information.
Where to dig after the verified names
Beatport’s Dubstep top 100 measures what DJs buy on that shop. Genre tags mix riddim, melodic bass, and festival dubstep in one bucket. It misses SoundCloud-only dubs (Beatport Dubstep top 100). Method piece: /news/beatport-dubstep-top-100-what-it-gets-wrong/.
For continuous heavy mixes, filter YouTube to roughly one hour, check a 2026 upload date, and prefer UKF Dubstep or DubstepGutter over compilations that cut every 30 seconds (UKF Dubstep search, DubstepGutter search, ukf.com). SoundCloud remains the dig for dubs that never hit a store chart (dubstep mix search, riddim mix search).
Other heavy names this magazine already filed as artists of the month in 2026: Eptic (May), Virtual Riot (April), Excision (September). Month index starts at /artistes/. Subtronics’ Fibonacci (December 2025, Cyclops Recordings) is a listening reference in this guide; it is not a tearout-only record, but Lost Lands 2026 put him back with a solo return plus the LEVEL UP b2b (Fibonacci on Beatport).
Metalstep and briddim, in plain language, are crossovers (metal riffs or a bridge between riddim and heavier dubstep). This magazine does not keep a separate metalstep chart. The heavy end we documented points at Svdden Death’s month page and Sullivan King b2b Ray Volpe at Lost Lands. The rest is still a SoundCloud dig: /news/metalstep-and-briddim-2026/.
Artist-of-the-month names already filed in 2026 that sit on the heavier festival side of our coverage include Eptic (May), Virtual Riot (April), Excision (September), and Svdden Death (March). Flux Pavilion, Skrillex, Zeds Dead, Ganja White Night, Liquid Stranger, Rusko and Mala are also on the year map for different jobs. Do not flatten them into one tearout playlist. Index: /artistes/. Songs / albums spine through 30 September: /news/best-dubstep-songs-of-2026/, /news/best-dubstep-albums-and-eps-of-2026/.
Infekt described riddim’s energy as flow rather than tear-out-in-your-face in UKF’s 2017 interview, linked from our long history piece. Point at that history rather than inventing a new quote: /news/history-of-dubstep/. Trench stays the OG riddim word Infekt pushed. Tearout stays the chaotic festival end. Keep them apart when you tag a folder.
If you came here for a numbered tearout crown, stop at Svdden Death’s month page, NSD Vol. 7, and the Lost Lands heavy b2bs. Everything else is still a dig, not a magazine chart.

The official Lost Lands site now features Excision’s two-hour 2026 solo set. For other replays, check festival and artist uploads: a performed set does not guarantee an available recording.
